Knowing what the test looks like greatly reduces stress. Here is how the day unfolds and how to approach it calmly.

The format

The test has 20 multiple-choice questions about Canada, to be completed in around 30 minutes. You need at least 15 correct answers (75%) to pass. The test may be taken online or in person depending on your notice.

What to prepare

  • Check your notice and the scheduled time.
  • Have the required identity documents ready.
  • For an online test, check your connection and equipment in advance.

Managing stress

Read each question calmly and in full. If you are unsure, first eliminate the clearly wrong answers. Do not get stuck: move on and come back if needed. Solid preparation beforehand is the best stress reliever.

Take one last mock exam the day before to build confidence, then rest.
